ABERDEEN, S.D. – Two ý State University students received awards in the 2023 Brown County Historical Society research and writing contest.
First place went to Jaeden Shaving for his paper titled “Let Me Be a Free Man: The Origins and Beliefs of the American Indian Movement.” Shaving is a history major from Aberdeen, S.D.
Bridget Fuhrmann received third place for “The History of ý’s Fine Art Department.” Fuhrmann is a history major with an English minor from Roscoe, S.D.
Each of the students received a certificate and a cash prize for their winning papers.
